Amrit Presanna Kumar is an experienced Software Engineering Manager currently working at Capital One. With over 10 years of relevant experience, he has led teams in ingesting data on a large scale and from various sources, while being responsible for the entire distributed system holding and processing PBs of data. He is proficient in AWS and other cloud-based systems and has worked mostly as a backend engineer with big data as well as full-stack experience in designing and developing end-to-end applications in internet scale. Amrit's technical proficiency includes Node, JavaScript, Spark, Java, Ionic, Django, Electron, SQL, UML, Algorithms, and Data Structures. Prior to joining Capital One, Amrit has worked as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Salesforce and Software Engineer 3 at PayPal. At Salesforce, he worked with backend systems consuming and processing PBs of data with distributed computing frameworks, particularly Apache Hadoop (YARN, MR, HDFS) with AWS. At PayPal, he worked on developing custom reports for large scale partners and merchants, creating a framework for catering future customization, and developing a microsite for shopping personality polls and entrepreneur campaigns conducted by PayPal India. He has also worked on developing PayPal plugins for WeChat users to view their PayPal balance and transactions. Amrit holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Computer Software Engineering from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Cochin University. He completed his Higher Secondary education in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from St. Joseph's HSS, Thalassery.
